Comments: Morning. Big picture, I'd say Las Barrancas lucked out. #Hurricane #POLO's center crossed the coast a little S of here, passing within ~6 n mi as it plowed inland after 11 am. Although this location was apparently will inside the RMW (20 n mi), it was on the weaker side, with winds blowing from the E, off the land. So, while destructive and noisy—the whole house seemed to vibrate and rumble as the center made its closes approach—winds did not have the bite they had on the other side. A distinctive feature of POLO was almost nonstop lightning and thunder—not common in hurricanes. Meteorological points aside, the farm I stayed on had plenty of damage, and they have a big cleanup ahead. https://x.com/iCyclone/status/2104985229517885741 https://x.com/iCyclone/status/2104953279751106964
